Enhancements to AEShareNet Licence System
The AEShareNet Licence System, introduced in 2002 has provided an important and unique contribution to the National Training System. It has also attracted favourable interest internationally. Significant changes are taking place with respect to the treatment of intellectual property and copyright. No amendments have been made to the Licence System in response to these changes, or in the light of experience with the System.
TVET Australia is now seeking feedback on the useability and efficiency of the AEShareNet Licence System. The objective is to achieve enhancements to the existing system and not consider any fundamental changes at this time.
This consultative process will involve each State and Territory, as well as other identified stakeholders, to ensure that the AEShareNet Licence System continues to meet the licencing needs of the Australian VET sector.
Based on feedback received to date, it is envisaged that these enhancements will aim to
- Make the web site and licencing system easier to use.
- Streamline the licencing process for both licencees and licencors.
- Introduce an option to create instant commercial licences.
A proposal outlining specific enhancements is currently being developed and will be made available for comment and feedback by mid-September 2007.
Once the enhancements are finalised, TVET Australia will commence a comprehensive information and marketing strategy to inform all key stakeholders and client groups.
