Nautilus Training & Curriculum Pty Ltd, through its own training operations in the childcare sector, has developed over forty Competency Handbooks for learners undertaking units of competency and qualifications in the Certificate II in Community Services Work and the Certificate III in Children's Services and Diploma of Children's Services.
The Certificate II in Community Services Work units are of particular interest to providers delivering the qualification under VET in Schools and/or the Skills for the Future - Work Skills Voucher initiative.
Each Competency Handbook covers an individual competency unit from the CHC02 Training Package. There are also three accompanying User's Guides, one for each of the three qualifications.
The Competency Handbooks are structured and organised in an easy to follow format. Each section, and the related topics, are derived directly from the Competency Elements and Performance Indicators, as outlined in the CHC02 Training Package. The close alignment of the materials to the structure and content of the training package facilitates training and learning and helps trainer/assessors to keep track of their trainees' progress through their training plans.
Each section in the Competency Handbook is concluded with one or more Assessment Tasks related to the Competency Element. Each topic has one or more engaging Learning Activities related to the specific Performance Indicator(s), which are designed to consolidate and extend learning.
These comprehensive resources are suitable for use across the entire scope of the Flexible Delivery model - distance, classroom, workplace, etc.
