NEW Products Nautilus Training Curriculum
Following on from our curriculum materials for qualifications in Children’s Services, Nautilus Training & Curriculum Pty Ltd has developed learning materials for Certificate II in Community Services Work (CHC20202), this time with an Aged Care focus.
Five new Competency Handbooks cover the five compulsory units:
- Communicate with people accessing the services of the organisation (CHCCOM1B)
- Prepare for work in the Community Services Industry (CHCCS201A)
- Follow OHS procedures (CHCOHS201A)
- Follow the organisation’s policies, procedures and programs (CHCORG1B)
- Work with others (CHCORG2B)
The new titles from Nautilus Training are:
- Communicating with people accessing the services of the aged care organisation – a Competency Handbook for competency unit CHCCOM1B
- Preparing for work in the aged care industry – a Competency Handbook for competency unit CHCCS201A
- Following OH&S procedures in aged care – a Competency Handbook for competency unit CHCOHS201A
- Following the organisation’s policies, procedures and programs in aged care – a Competency Handbook for competency unit CHCORG1B
- Working with others in aged care – a Competency Handbook for competency unit CHCORG2B
These resources were developed in response to numerous enquiries, particularly from secondary schools delivering VET, regarding whether Nautilus Training & Curriculum Pty Ltd had developed any learning materials, which were similar to its Children’s Services resources, but with an Aged Care focus.
Whilst the qualification Certificate II in Community Services Work (CHC20202) is intended as a general introduction to the Community Services sector, teachers and trainers delivering this qualification, have indicated that they want to be able to embed the learning in the context of the specific industry in which the student will gain their practical (work) experience.
As the two most popular industry contexts, according to Nautilus Training & Curriculum Pty Ltd’s experience, are Children’s Services and Aged Care, providers of the Certificate II in Community Services Work (CHC20202) are now able to choose between these two contexts, and provide their students with contextualised materials, which may also be used alongside each other, where the learning group is split between Children’s Services and Aged Care for its learning context and hands-on experience.
The new materials, when available, may be purchased through TVET Australia Product Services’ website: http://www.atpl.net.au/
